Santa's Hearth: A Simmer Pot & Spell Kit

For Abundance, Generosity, and Wishes Granted

The hearth has always been the heart of the house. It's where the bread got baked and the stories got told, and on one special night of the year it's where the magic comes in.

The old legend says Saint Nicholas tossed gold down a chimney so three poor sisters would have dowries. The gold landed in the stockings they'd hung by the fire to dry. That's why we still hang stockings by the hearth, and why so many of us grew up finding an orange tucked in the toe on Christmas morning. It stood for that gold.

This simmer pot calls that same old giving magic into your home. Set it on the stove on Christmas Eve, or any winter night you need a little plenty, and let it fill the house with the smell of everything good about the season.

What's in the pot, and why:

  • Orange: for Saint Nicholas's gold and the orange in the toe of the stocking

  • Cinnamon stick: for warmth and prosperity

  • Clove: for kindness and goodwill

  • Star anise: for the Star that guides the way home

  • A sprig of pine: for evergreen luck all winter long

  • Dried cranberries: for joy and red-ribbon cheer

  • Split vanilla bean: for sweetness, and for Santa's cookies

  • Peppermint candy: for childlike delight

The spell:

Stir the pot clockwise and speak the hearth charm printed on your card. Then write your wishes on paper and burn them in the flame of the white chime candle included in your kit. The smoke carries them up the chimney, the same way the gold came down.

It's a spell for opening your hands. Draw in abundance, give it out freely, and let a little wonder find its way back to you.

Inside your kit:

  • One Santa's Hearth simmer blend in a sealed pouch

  • A white chime candle for burning your wishes

  • An illustrated instruction card with the hearth charm and wish ritual
